Cornell University's Bob Schindelbeck tests forsoil aggregates
The Michigan Organic Farming Exchange held its annual soil-building workshop in August 2008 at Morgan Composting in Sears, Michigan. Featured speaker Bob Schindelbeck of Cornell University demostrated a soil aggregate test he uses to help his students understand how various practices impact soil structure and tilth and why it is important to build healthy soils. Using the analogy of heart disease, Schindelbeck explains that the diet you feed your soill has an impact on its overall health. Here is his mini-lesson in three parts.
